A brilliant buff-top cut amethyst is the star of this elaborate Art Deco solitaire ring. The gem is the decadent purple color typically found in Siberian amethysts. Its top is cut en cabochon, while its underside is faceted, creating the buff cut top's unique glittering glow. This gorgeous amethyst is set in 14k yellow gold filigree and held in an engraved bezel over the tapered body of the ring. The gold is pierced and engraved with a romantic floral motif. Circa 1920.
