Antique Garnet in 12k Gold Signet-Style Ring

An elegant antique signet-style ring set with a gorgeous rectangular garnet. The garnet is set in the Georgian fashion; foiled, in a closed-back setting. The 12k gold ring has a low profile with an engraved rectangular bezel, triple-split shoulders, and a flat band. The openwork shoulders bear soft traces of original engraving reminiscent of a crown of leaves. This piece would make a striking pinky ring. Circa 1820.

This ring is as fragile as it is lovely and should be worn with care. Please note that you Do Not want to get foiled closed-back gems wet; it will darken the stones.

Details.....Currently a size 6.5. The ring may be sized up or down two sizes free of charge. The top of the ring measures 8mm by 10.3mm, and the band is 3.1mm wide. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
